Enable New Innovid (New)

Overview

New Innovid (formerly Flashtalking) is an ad server and creative management platform from Mediaocean that delivers and measures advertising across display, video, social, and other channels. Connect New Innovid to Branch to attribute clicks and installs, forward conversion events via postbacks, and deep link users into your app.

Note: Flashtalking is now New Innovid

Following Mediaocean's acquisition of Innovid, the Flashtalking brand has merged under the Innovid name and is now called New Innovid. While the rebrand is in progress, this integration continues to appear as Flashtalking in Branch, including the Configuration > Ad Partners list, the Ad Partner Name reporting field, and link parameters.

For more information about integrating ad partners in general, visit our Ad Partner Integration Guide.

Note: this guide is for new Branch

Please note that this guide is about integrating New Innovid in the new Branch experience. For ad partner integrations in legacy Branch, visit our guide.

Before you begin

To set up the New Innovid integration, you need:

  • Branch's Performance product enabled for your Branch account. Contact your Branch account manager or visit https://branch.io/pricing.

  • A Branch account with access to Configuration > Ad Partners and admin permissions to enable and configure integrations.

  • The Branch SDK implemented in your app (iOS | Android) with event tracking configured.

  • A New Innovid account with admin access. Contact your New Innovid account manager for your Advertiser Domain, Reporting Bucket, and Advertiser ID.

Enable New Innovid

To begin, navigate to Configuration > Ad Partners > Flashtalking.

Branch enables New Innovid's basic setup automatically. On the Status tab, the Ad Linking and Attribution cards show Enabled, while the Postbacks card shows Needs Setup until you provide your New Innovid postback credentials.

To complete postback setup, select Partner settings to open the Manage account dialog. Under Postback Credentials, enter your Advertiser Domain, Reporting Bucket, and Advertiser ID, then select Save. These credentials are added to your postbacks automatically. Contact your New Innovid account manager if you need help locating these values.

(Recommended) To configure the optional PAM for Publishers privacy setting, select Partner settings to open the Manage account dialog and enable the toggle. When enabled, PAM for Publishers removes advertiser-specific user identifiers from postbacks for users who haven't opted in via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework, prioritizing identifiers provided directly by New Innovid.

Configure attribution

By default, New Innovid uses your global app attribution settings. To set attribution windows specific to New Innovid, enable the Override global app settings toggle on the Attribution windows tab.

For more information, follow Configure attribution in the general Ad Partner Integration Guide.

Configure postbacks

Enabling the integration automatically activates the INSTALL postback. The default postback URL template is:

https://${ (ad_network.credentials.domain)! }/spot/${ (ad_network.credentials.reportingBucket)! }/${ (ad_network.credentials.advertiserId)! };${(ad_network.goal_ids["${(name)!}"])!}/?ft_id=<#if (user_data.os)! == "IOS" && (user_data.idfa)!?has_content >${(user_data.idfa)!}<#elseif (user_data.os)! == "IOS">${(user_data.idfv)!}<#elseif (user_data.os)! == "ANDROID"&& (user_data.aaid)!?has_content  >${(user_data.aaid)!}<#elseif (user_data.os)! == "ANDROID">${(user_data.android_id)!}<#elseif (user_data.os)! == "ROKU" >${(user_data.roku_rida)!}<#elseif (user_data.os)! == "SAMSUNG"  >${(user_data.samsung_ifa)!}<#elseif (user_data.os)! == "LG"  >${(user_data.lg_ifa)!}<#elseif (user_data.os)! == "PANASONIC" >${(user_data.panasonic_ifa)!}<#elseif (user_data.os)! == "WINDOWS"  >${(user_data.windows_aid)!}<#elseif (user_data.os)! == "PLAYSTATION" >${(user_data.playstation_ifa)!}<#elseif (user_data.os)! == "XBOX" >${(user_data.xbox_msai)!}</#if>&ft_attrimp=${ (last_attributed_touch_data.ft_attrimp)! }&ft_attrclk=${ (last_attributed_touch_data.~click_id)! }&ft_log=1&cachebuster=${ (last_attributed_touch_data.cachebuster)! }&ft_guid=${ (last_attributed_touch_data.guid)! }&click_id=${ (last_attributed_touch_data.ft_attrimp)! }

Important: Ensure the Spot ID field in Branch is populated for each postback. New Innovid requires this value to transfer data correctly. The Spot ID is a concatenation of your Spot ID and Spot Group ID, separated by a semicolon (for example, 142109;13785). In the postback URL template, the Spot ID value populates the ${(ad_network.goal_ids["${(name)!}"])!} macro, which appears immediately after your Advertiser ID.

To send events regardless of attribution, enable the Send all events toggle on the Postback config tab. To add postbacks for additional events, select Add new postback and choose an event you track with the Branch SDK.

To customize postback behavior, follow Configure postbacks in the general Ad Partner Integration Guide.

Create a Branch Ad Link to use in your New Innovid campaigns. Branch uses the link to attribute clicks and impressions and deep link users into your app.

When you build the link, append the New Innovid macros that pass campaign metadata into Branch. Note that link parameters retain legacy Flashtalking naming, including the %243p=a_flashtalking value and the FT_ macro prefixes; do not change these. For example:

https://example.app.link/fzmLEhobLD?%243p=a_flashtalking&%24idfa=[%IDFA%]&cachebuster=[%FT_RANDOM%]&ft_attrimp=[%FT_IMPRESSIONID%]&guid=[%FT_GUID%]&~ad_id=[%FT_CONFID%]&~campaign_id=[%campaignID%]&~click_id=[%FT_IMPRESSIONID%]&~creative_id=[%creativeID%]&~placement=[%placementID%]&~secondary_publisher=[%siteID%]

Place the generated Branch Ad Link in your New Innovid campaign. For the full link-creation flow, follow Create a Branch Ad Link in the general Ad Partner Integration Guide.

Verify your data

After your integration is connected and events are flowing, you can verify data is reaching Branch and New Innovid:

  • In Branch Liveview: confirm that events from your app appear in real time. This is the fastest way to confirm SDK events are firing.

  • In Branch Analysis dashboards: review attributed installs and events where Ad Partner Name = Flashtalking. Branch reporting continues to use the Flashtalking name for this integration.

  • In New Innovid: confirm that forwarded events are appearing in your New Innovid reporting.
