Overview

Cost data is the amount of money spent on ad campaigns and is required to make ad optimization decisions in the mobile marketing ecosystem. With Cost Data, you can now receive that signal within Branch instead of manually collating data from different ad platforms or relying on internal BI tools to build and maintain individual cost APIs.

With Branch, you will:

Have your cost data all together in the Branch Dashboard reports
Have a dedicated screen for a given Non-SAN to enable cost data
View timezone variances and implications

How does it work?

Branch receives the cost data signal (with other dimensions) and updates reports in the Branch Dashboard or data exports through one of the following methods:

Cost Data via API Connection	SANs & Non-SANs	Branch ingests cost data through direct integration with the ad partner utilizing a secure and authenticated API.
Cost on Links	Non-SANs	Branch ingests cost data through Branch Ad Links. The supported ad network will apply cost-related parameters as link macro on Branch Ad Links.

Note: If a partner is set up for both Cost Data via API Connection and Cost on Links, Branch will use the Cost Data via API Connection method for reliability.

Handling Currencies

Branch applies the current exchange rate every 30 minutes for today's spend and then daily for days after that to convert it to USD and then converted to your local currency (if you set it). If it is the same currency, then Branch won't apply any exchange rates to your local currency.
