# Usage (New)

> Track volume credits and other usage that affects your Branch invoice on the Billing tab.

## Overview

[Branch](https://branchdocs.app.link/e/home-page-to-dashboard) gives you insight into metrics that impact your Branch invoice.

You can use this information to measure utilization for the current month, so that you do not go over your allowed limits. It allows you to analyze trends from month to month.

Branch measures your usage in **volume credits**, or in **monthly active users (MAU)** for some contracts.

### Monthly active users

MAU is the number of unique individuals that interact with your web or app properties on a monthly basis.

Branch calculates your MAU count, which can be useful for determining the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns for your app.

### Volume credits

Volume credits correspond to the number of end-user actions tracked, driven by, and reported on in Branch.

## Track usage

Your app's usage appears on the [Billing tab](https://branchdocs.app.link/billing-new-to-billing-settings), and what you see there depends on whether your account is self-serve or enterprise.

Self-serve accounts see the **Usage** module. It shows your app's volume credit usage for this month and last month, out of the number your plan includes. It can also show how many web links and QR codes you've created and how many clicks Branch has tracked. To change your plan, select **Manage plan** in the [plan module](https://help.branch.io/account-hub/billing-manage-new.md#plan-details).

Enterprise accounts see a **Usage** chart of their total usage month over month.
